The image below is a lower resolution version of a photo I made which I call Lisa's Subtle Makeover. I downloaded a very hi-res public domain digital scan of a well known painting and gave it a subtle makeover. If you compare it with the original you will probably notice the difference. I think it is an improvement that needed to be made. I prepared an image file to print a 13" X 19" photo at 1200 pixels per inch on a Canon Pixma Pro-100 printer. To get the best image possible for printing I set it in 16 Bit mode and ProPhoto RGB format; and, although despite being a .jpg file the original hi res downloaded image didn't have any noticeable compression artifacts, it took well to sharpening effects after increasing image size. I printed it out on Canon semi-glossy photo paper. I usually use glossy paper; but, I think I like semi-glossy better now for some things. It turned out awesome; and, the color and details looked even better than it did on my retina display computer screen. The file size for the hi res version is 1.44 GB. If you want to print a hi res 13" X 19" version of the photo, you can right click on the blue button below and save the linked image to your computer, and then print it out on a good quality printer. Unfortunately, web browsers are apparently not designed properly for mad scientist use; so, with an image of this huge of a file size you can't just left-click on the link and open it up in your browser. You have to wait until it finishes downloading; and, then you should be able to open it on your computer. It would probably be a much better internet if the web browsers were designed by little kids with tiny thumbs...
