    The filming of this movie is complete. This movie consists of dozens of reels of 8MM film, shot over a period of many years, between the 1950s and 1960s, by my parents, Cecil Kibbe and Venita Kibbe. I have found the film reels to be remarkably well preserved. I have converted them into a digital format using a high quality telecine. I am now using high end computer software of types that have been used to produce most of the top commercial movies, to get the best image quality, color grading, and other video factors I can. I then plan to edit all of the separate reels into one single digital movie. I hope to present the audience with a finished product that will give them an idea of what it was like to watch "home movies", as they were referred to back in the good old days, where friends and family would get together and watch moving video images, from developed 8MM silent movie film projected onto a portable movie screen in someone's living room, with no sound present except the sounds made by those watching the home movies, and the movie projector which shined a bright light through the translucent film, to project the film's image onto the movie screen. Although the images will be in the same aspect ratio as the original film, they will be superimposed on a 1080P HD matrix. They will not be cropped; but, rather, I will use a pillar box format, which in commercial venues, such as television, commonly appears with a black vertical bar to the left and right sides of the viewable image. Since those bars will not be displaying any part of the home movie image, I plan to use it for other things which I feel will fit into the format of the home movie venue. Although the sound track for the movie will contain the sound of a movie projector, just like people heard when they watched the original home movies, the sound track will be enhanced in certain ways to make the movie more enjoyable for entertainment purposes. The final product will be a digital file containing both video and audio signals. I plan to post the movie on my website after it is finished, so that any persons who want to, can download it free of charge, according to the conditions stated at the bottom of this page. Once the file is downloaded onto your computer, you can make copies to any storage method which has a large enough storage capacity for the file size of the movie. I do not know what the file size will be, and won't know until the movie is completed. Most computers contain software video players which will play a video or audio file. If you don't understand that, just ask your kids, and they will probably be able to explain it to you. You do not need a Blue-Ray player to view this movie, unless the particular copy of this movie that you have happens to be stored on a Blue-Ray disc. Although the movie can be viewed on a smaller computer screen, it is recommended that you watch it on a larger 1080P TV screen. The audio portion of the movie will be in 7.1 surround format. It does not matter what brand of sound system you use to play the sound track. Any THX Certified 7.1 or larger surround system will do. Although I hope to see that anyone who wants to, can watch this movie free of charge with family and friends for their own enjoyment, I do not plan to watch this movie with other people around. I know from watching each of the reels, while I am editing this movie, that it would make me much more emotional than I would ever want to be around other people. These film clips were all shot with family and friends over a period of many years of my life, during much more peaceful times, with people we love, who happened to be around when my Mom and Dad were filming. They bring back many wonderful memories, memories of those who appear in the movie, and those we love who came along later. Sometimes they make me feel like laughing; sometimes they make me feel sad, but in a good way, knowing that some day we will all be together again, in peaceful happy times, in the ultimate family reunion that will never end...
