deanrichardkibbe.com We have all heard of them. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube among others, known as "social networks". What do we really know about them? Pretty much whatever they want you to. We have no way to check their private records to verify anything they claim. They can say they have 7 billion users. They can lie. They can tell the truth. When there is a huge fortune of money involved, would that be enough of a motive for someone to lie? There are many questions about social networks that should be answered and verified to the public but never are. Are the rich to control communication and socialization of humans on the internet? Would YouTube purposely cause glitches in their system which might effectively censor the network, by preventing and/or hindering parties whose economic, political, or other views did not match those of the monetarily wealthy who own the giant companies that run the networks, from setting up their own YouTube channel? Google it. Would Twitter manipulate who sees what tweets, and limit the number of followers who could find or access the Twitter feeds of persons whose views were not compatible with the establishment who runs Twitter? Would Facebook try to get more information from you than you would think even a spy agency would want to know? Are any or all of these "social networks" paid for and run by the government covertly as a means of control of the populace, without the expense of more guns? Would any of these sites make up big numbers to create the illusion that certain views and/or the persons espousing those views are more popular than they really are, and to suppress views not acceptable to the establishment running these sites? Do the social networks, search engines, and other huge corporations which seem to have become almost governments by themselves, gather and share enough information about civilians to allow them to run programs which make them the controllers of ideas and beliefs on the internet, and whatever electronic devices you and your kids, or their robot replacements, are plugged into? How could it get any less free for civilians if the entire integral political/economic system was forced out of business and we let the rich punch in for us while their evil Big Brother machine just rots into Hell?...
